Gatefold
A page in a publication that is larger than the other pages and is folded to fit
Perforation
Tearing line made by puncturing the surface of paper

Cutting a product to a certain shape
Embossing
A process that applies pressure to the backside of a material to alter the surface, giving it a three dimensional or raised effect.
If a multi-level die is used, there will be varying depths to the embossing, giving the image a distinctive 3-D effect
Scoring
Scoring is the term applied to the process that places a crease in paper stocks and other substrates allowing the material to be folded
Trimming allowance
Bleeds which are cut from three sides of the product. Pictures that go beyond the edge of the page should have a bleed.
Lamination
Applying film on a printed sheet, which adds durability of the printed product
UV varnish
Varnish dried with UV-light
Dispersion (Water) varnish
Water based varnish, which adds gloss to the printed surface
Spot varnishing
Varnishing is made in certain place
